It’s a hot sunny day. Mommy takes a stroll with me.
At the beach, there are people of all shades that you’ll see.
We see Mrs. Pippi lying on a big fluffy towel. We have a little chat.
Her shade is nice and tan. She’s waving a purple and pink straw hat.
Next, we pass Mr. Paul. He lays in a bright red chair.
His shade is a sunburnt orange, just like his wild, messy, frizzy hair.
We walk farther down the beach. Hey! There’s my classmate, Rico.
His shade is caramel, smooth and rich. “Let’s go into the water,” he says. And in we go.
We splash around in the cool blue waters. Here comes Rico’s friend, Fran.
Her freckled color is now a light shade of brown. The sun gave her an awesome tan.
Tabitha swims over to us. Her shade is as smooth as ice.
She dives underwater to pick up a seashell. Oh wow! Isn’t that nice?
There are so many people of different shades on the shore. There are just as many swimming in the sea.
